Gracewell: A Daily Prayer and Scripture Rhythm App for Christians

I’m grateful to share that Gracewell is now live on the App Store.

Gracewell is a simple iPhone app designed to help Christians build a daily rhythm of prayer, Scripture, and reflection, either personally or together with someone else. It is not meant to replace church, private Bible reading, family worship, pastoral care, or the ordinary means of grace God has given His people. My hope is much smaller and more practical: to create a quiet tool that helps people pause, return to Scripture, and bring their day before the Lord with more intention.

This project is personal to me.

Over the past few years, I’ve become more aware of how easy it is for modern life to scatter us. We carry devices that constantly pull our attention outward. We are surrounded by noise, urgency, entertainment, anxiety, and endless small distractions. Even good responsibilities can leave our minds divided and our spiritual habits neglected.

I wanted to build something that moved in the opposite direction.

Gracewell began with a simple question: could an app help create a small, faithful rhythm in ordinary daily life?

Not a replacement for deeper study. Not a substitute for gathered worship. Not another notification-heavy app competing for attention. Just a quiet companion for reading, praying, reflecting, and remembering what is true.

The app includes daily Scripture, prayer prompts, reflection, and simple rhythms meant to help users slow down and turn their attention back to God. My goal is not to make faith feel like a productivity system, but to support the kind of regular, humble habits that help us remain grounded.

One feature I’m especially excited about is Together. Gracewell can be used privately, but it also includes shared rhythms for people who want to pray, read, or reflect with someone else; a spouse, family member, friend, or small group partner. I wanted the app to support the simple reality that Christian life is not meant to be lived in isolation. Sometimes we need a quiet personal rhythm, and sometimes we need a gentle way to encourage one another toward Scripture and prayer.

As someone in the Reformed tradition, I care deeply about keeping this kind of work rooted and sober. Technology can be useful, but it is not ultimate. Apps do not sanctify us. Christ does. The Word of God is living and active. The Holy Spirit works through the means God has appointed. My hope is simply that Gracewell can serve as a small aid. A reminder, a prompt, a quiet nudge toward prayer and Scripture in the middle of normal life.

I also see this app as part of a broader personal goal: to use the skills God has given me in ways that are useful to others. I have spent years working in technology, support, product thinking, and software development. Gracewell is one attempt to bring those skills into service of something more meaningful than convenience or entertainment.

I don’t know exactly where the app will go from here. I expect it will improve through feedback, correction, and real use. I would love for it to become more helpful over time for individuals, couples, families, and small groups who want to build a steadier daily rhythm.

For now, I’m simply thankful that it is live.

If you are a Christian looking for a simple way to pause, read Scripture, pray, and reflect during the day, I’d be grateful if you tried Gracewell and sent me your honest feedback.

And if you know someone who might benefit from a quiet daily prayer and Scripture rhythm, please feel free to share it with them.
